Who We Are
Round River Design is a team of ecological designers, scientists, educators and practioners who collaborate to restore community, sense of place, and stewardship through our work.
Founder and owner Michael Blazewicz has worked for over a decade to address food
and water security issues through research, restoration, education, and collaboration.
Michael brings over a decade of experience including work as a watershed restoration
technician, the watershed coordinator for Friends of the Mad River, and a consulting
scientist for Pioneer Environmental, and Bear Creek Environmental. He has been through
Phase 1 and 2 trainings held by the VDEC River Management Program. Michael is also a
Permaculture designer and teacher and brings a whole systems approach to his work.
Our project team has had proven success with both independent and team- oriented projects. Our ability to work with various stakeholders has been bolstered by our work experience with public, private, and non-profit sectors as well as through interdisciplinary and focused education.
All of our consultants hold Permaculture Design Certificates and are actively applying permaculture principles to community design. Our work is supported by a web of outstanding colleagues and subcontractors to improve the depth and wholeness with which design and implementation are done.
